Our Approach

We hold the keys to a few apartments, and we hand them over ourselves.

What we are, and what we are not.

The Quiet Address is not a platform. There is no marketplace here, no listings from strangers, no algorithm deciding what you see. We own or manage every apartment on this site, we have slept in each of them, and we know which window sticks.

We are also not a hotel. There is no reception, no breakfast room, no one to fold the end of the toilet paper into a point. What you get instead is an apartment that belongs to a city rather than to a chain, and a person who lives nearby and answers.

We started with three apartments in Paris, then Athens, then Nice. All five are open. We would rather add one apartment a year that we are sure of than ten we are not.

I

How we choose

Light first, then the street, then the rooms. We look for buildings with a history and a stair worth climbing, in neighbourhoods where people still live. We turn down more than we take.

II

The handover

Someone meets you at the door. They show you the rooms, the boiler, the good bakery and the bad one. Where a key safe exists, it is for late arrivals, not to save us the walk.

III

While you stay

We are a message away and otherwise absent. We book tables, find a doctor, explain the recycling. We do not come round unless asked.

IV

Four to fourteen nights

Long enough to learn a street, short enough to leave before it becomes ordinary. We do not take single nights; the apartments and the neighbours deserve better.

How a stay is arranged.

You write to us with your dates and your party. Within the day, a person writes back: the apartment is free or it is not, and if not, another may be. We send a short agreement and ask for a deposit of a third. The balance is due a month before you arrive.

Rates are quoted for the whole stay, with linen, cleaning and local taxes included, so the number we give you is the number you pay. We do not publish nightly prices because we do not think of the apartments by the night.

If you need to cancel more than sixty days out, the deposit comes back to you. Closer than that, we do our best to re-let, and return whatever we can.

Athens · Kostas

Athenian, and has welcomed guests in Psyri for more than a decade.

Nice · Mathilde

Niçoise, and swims before breakfast most of the year. Holds the keys on the seafront.
